Thanksgiving evening is already a time for the people of Bogalusa to get out and about to share holiday cheer while welcoming the approach of Christmas.

This year folks will have an even more energetic way to top off a holiday that generally takes place around a fully laden table.

Now, besides the opening of Christmas in the Park and the rolling of the Lighted Christmas Parade, Thanksgiving evening will mark the introduction of the Jingle Fun Run/Walk that will end with a lap through the just-lit Cassidy Park.

The two-mile family event will start at 5 p.m., with registration beginning at 4 p.m. in the park. Registration costs $20 for adults and $15 for children 13 years of age and younger, and a T-shirt is included.

T-shirts will also be available for purchase for $15 during the event.

Sponsorships are available for $50. Sponsors will have their business name or logo on the shirts.

All event proceeds will go to Bogalusa Parks, Recreation and Culture, and checks should be made payable to Bogalusa Parks and Recreation.
