Jimmy Lavern Brewer Sr.

Jimmy Lavern Brewer Sr., 67, a resident of Pine born Jan. 18, 1945, died Monday, Nov. 5, 2012 at 8:15 a.m. at his residence.

He was a retired electrical lineman, having worked for Country Boy Construction. He loved carpentry and doing woodworking. He also enjoyed horses and going on trial rides.

He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Betty Caves Brewer of Pine; two daughters, Betty Leeanne Varnado and Ronnie Rawson of Slidell and Debra Denise and Tres Sylvest of Richardson; a son, Jimmy Laverne Brewer Jr. of Pine; grandchildren, Amanda Renee’ Varnado, Danielle Johnson, Kenneth Brewer, Montana Brewer, Ashlyn Brewer, Amber Brewer and Justin Sylvest; and two brothers and two sisters.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Grover Lavern and Anna Lou Lowery Brewer.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, Nov. 6 at Crain Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 10 p.m. and will resume Wednesday at noon. A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Bro. Yancy Magee and Bro. Steve Keyes officiating. Burial will follow at the Poplarhead Church Cemetery.
