Michael Raymond Edwards

Michael Raymond Edwards, 62, a resident of Bogalusa, passed away Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012 at LSU Bogalusa Medical Center.

He was a member of Monroe Street Baptist church and served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict. He retired after 25 years with the Bogalusa Police Department.

He is survived by his wife, Sandy Brewton Edwards of Bogalusa; two daughters, Michelle Balckwell of Metairie and Devin Edwards of Bogalusa; brothers, Freddie (Agness) Edwards of Bogalusa and Gene (Louise) Edwards of Bogalusa; and one granddaughter, Kristal Blackwell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Adrian Sr. and Ruth Edwards.

Visitation will be held Saturday, Nov. 3 in the chapel of Brown-McGehee Funeral Home from 4 p.m. until 9 p.m. and will continue Sunday from 9 a.m. until time for services in the chapel at 2 p.m., with Rev. Chad Jenkins officiating. Burial will follow at Ponemah Cemetery, with military rites conducted by Magic City Post No. 24 of the American Legion.
