Businesses reopening in Bogalusa

Bogalusa is rapidly returning to normal, although still suffering the after effects of Hurricane Isaac.

Many of the grocery stores as well as fast food restaurants are open. The rain has stopped for now, although additional rainfall is possible later this afternoon.

Area creeks are continuing to rise, which is concerning local officials. The Bogue Lusa Creek has overtopped its banks and flowing onto Willis Avenue, which is currently closed. A short while ago, the creek rose one inch in 12 minutes.

Also, Coburn Creek has overflowed its banks.

In Franklinton officials have their eyes focused on the Bogue Chitto River, which is continuing to rise.

But other businesses are resuming normal operations in Franklinton.
