At approximately 3 p.m. Tuesday, Washington Parish President Richard Thomas issued an executive order encouraging all residents who live in mobile homes to voluntarily evacuate.

“With the onset of tropical storm force winds late this afternoon and lasting hours and possibly days,” Thomas urged those who do not feel safe in their homes to go to the shelter in Franklinton or Bogalusa.

The Franklinton shelter is located at Franklinton High School, 1 Demon Circle. The Bogalusa shelter is located at Elizabeth Sullivan Memorial United Methodist Church, 510 Avenue B.
