There is no curfew in place in Franklinton, Mayor Wayne Fleming said. For any residents in need of shelter, he advises that one is available at Franklinton High School.

He said he is proud of how his department heads have responded during Hurricane Isaac.

“It’s amazing to see how they work together,” he said.

The Franklinton Police Department will be on patrol, Fleming said. All town departments, including the FPD, will be staffed as needed, and all employees will be on call, he said. He has advised that town employees will not be put in harm’s way and will respond to things like downed trees after the weather settles down.

Fleming asks that all residents place their trash cans behind their homes for the duration of the storm.

Residents who have any problems can call City Hall at 839-3569 and help will be available.
