Bogalusa is ready for Isaac
Just before 6 p.m. Tuesday, Bogalusa Police Chief Joe Culpepper said only one incident that was possibly related to Hurricane Isaac had been reported.
“A couple of kids tried to break into a house and got caught,” he said.
Other than that, the Bogalusa Police Department was in the same “wait and see” mode that described about everybody in southeast Louisiana.
“We put on a few extra people, and we’re prepared for whatever eventuality is coming our way,” Culpepper said. “We’re working with the fire department and Public Works. It’s a group effort. But people need to mind their p’s and q’s.”
Culpepper said he had notified Bogalusa businesses that they had to “close and be out by 8 p.m.” The city has imposed an 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. curfew for Tuesday and Wednesday.
