Joan Lea Stevens, 68, born on Sept. 24, 1943 in Pound, Va., passed away Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012 at Lakeview Regional Medical Center in Mandeville.

She is survived by a son, Mark (Cindy) Stevens of Bogalusa; two grandchildren, Matthew Stevens and Miranda Stafford; two sisters, Patricia (Lamar) Knight of Hattiesburg, Miss. and Linda Poma of Atlanta, Ga.; one brother, Gary (Ann) Adkins of Pine; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by Ronald A. Stevens; a daughter, Debra Lea Stevens; her father, Robert Gates; and her mother, Violet Dotson Gates.

Visitation was held Saturday, Aug. 25 at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home from 2:30 p.m. until the memorial service at 6 p.m.
