Joseph Christopher Ricca

Joseph Christopher Ricca, a retired supervisor of the Lithography Department of the American Can Company for 26 years, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Aug. 18, 2012 at the age of 91.

He was a native of New Orleans and a longtime resident of Metairie; a parishioner of St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church and a 4th Degree member of the Knights of Columbus, Bishop Charles P. Greco Assembly No. 2093, 3rd Degree Knights of Columbus, Father Seelos Council No. 2878; and a member of International Order of Alhambra, Darro Caravan No. 29. He was a previous scoutmaster of the Boy Scouts of America Troop 50 (the first Boy Scout troop at St. Catherine of Siena), and a brotherhood member of the Chitimacha Lodge of the Order of the Arrow, National Boy Scout Society of Honor Campers.

Beloved husband of the late Margaret Hecker Ricca, Joseph will be remembered by his loving children, Joseph John (Joan) Ricca, Robert Frank (Paulette) Ricca, Kathleen Marie (Robert) Held and Margaret Elaine (Robert) Treadaway. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Son of the late Virginia Fiorella Ricca and Frank L. Ricca, he was predeceased by his sons, Donald Louis Ricca and Edward Vincent Ricca, and brothers, Frederick and Frank Ricca.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Saturday, Aug. 25, 2012 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, 105 Bonnabel Blvd., Metairie, LA 70005, at noon, to be preceded by visitation beginning at 9 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Roch Cemetery No. 1.
