Jerry Dean Marshall, born Aug. 1, 1942, passed away at the age of 70 in Austin, Texas on Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012.

She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Rev. Rayfus Marshall of Folsom; one son, Willie Ray Marshall of Austin; five daughters, Joyce (Larry) Williams of Austin, Viola (Jessie) Barnes of Franklinton, Patricia (Melton) James of Loranger, Cynthia (Hollis) Marshall of Franklinton and Sharon Marshall of Austin; three brothers, Morris (Cleo) James of New Orleans, C.J. (Edna) James of New Orleans and Jimmy Smith of Dallas, Texas; one sister, Bertha Mae (James) Sibley of Baton Rouge; 10 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Lodie Smith, and father, Ellis James, and one brother, Seymore James.

Visitation was held Thursday, Aug. 23 at Greater Payne Chapel A.M.E. Church in Folsom from 1 p.m. until time for the funeral at 3 p.m., with Rev. Vohn Henry, pastor, officiating. Interment followed at Folsom Community Cemetery.
