The third annual Open Road Cruisers “Cruisin the Park” benefit car show will take place in Bogalusa’s Cassidy Park from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 22, and the preregistration period for participants ends tomorrow.
Proceeds from this year’s show will help defray the medical expenses of Justin Wheat.
Hotrods, cars, trucks and bikes will be eligible for awards including Top 20, Best of Show, sponsor awards, specialty awards and more, and all preregistered vehicles will receive dash plaques.
The entry fee is $20 for those who preregister and $25 at the time of the show.
The family-friendly event has drawn large crowds since it began, and the trend is expected to continue this year. Besides offering folks the chance to check out a park full of extraordinary vehicles while benefitting a worthy cause, the show will include children’s activities, music, food, a 50/50 raffle and lots of giveaways.
Entry to the benefit car show is free to the public, and organizers say that it will take place “rain or shine.”
