A few hundred Entergy customers in the North Richmond Street area in Bogalusa were left scrambling to find some relief from the heat when they lost power for a few hours early Saturday afternoon.
The outage started at approximately 2:10 p.m. when a conductor failed on Montgomery Street, according to Eunice Harris, Entergy customer service specialist.
At that point, about 130 customers lost power. But, for safety reasons, electricity was cut off to an additional 200 customers while a two-man crew worked to make the necessary repairs.
The crew was able to get the electricity flowing again by about 5:40 p.m.
“Entergy apologizes to its customers for their experiencing such an outage during extreme temperatures,” Harris said. “And we certainly do appreciate your patience and cooperation.”
