Betty Zeagler

Betty Zeagler, 92, a resident of Bogalusa born July 3, 1920, died Saturday, Aug. 11, 2012 at her residence.

She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and a graduate of the University of Michigan. She taught at Northside and Columbia Street schools and was a member of the Golden Girls of the Bogalusa Country Club.

She is survived by one daughter, Catherine Jayne (Buck) Ramsey of Spicewood, Texas.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Lee Zeagler, and her parents, Richard and Lillian Olsen.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, Aug. 15 in the Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home Chapel from 10 a.m. until time for the funeral service in the chapel at 2 p.m., with Dr. Jim Stayton officiating. Entombment will follow at Sanctuary of Peace Mausoleum.

Active pallbearers will be Durwood Alford, Lee Alford, John Bouleware, Hap Hayden, Gordan Himebaugh and Chad Sheridan.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Presbyterian Church, Bogalusa, or the Magnolia Chapter of the Louisiana Humane Society.

The family wishes to thank Regina “Gigi” Duncan and her mother for all of the care that they have given to Betty.
