Voters in Washington Parish will help select more than just the next president of the United States on Nov. 6.

The local ballot will include choices for mayor and members of the boards of aldermen in Angie, Franklinton and Varnado, and for the chiefs of police in Angie and Varnado.

Qualifying for those seats will take place Wednesday through Friday in the clerk of court’s office in the courthouse in Franklinton.

The qualifying fee for Democratic candidates is $80. The Republican fee is $60, and the fee for “other” candidates is $40, according to Washington Parish Clerk of Court Johnny D. Crain Jr.

The qualifying times are 8 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. Wednesday and Thursday, and 8 a.m. through 5 p.m. Friday.
