The altar area featured white Roman columns wrapped with light pink floral mesh tied with ropes of pearls. Two floral arrangements of stargazer lilies and roses in shades of pink cascaded from the tops of the columns. The unity candle was highlighted on the communion table with silver candlesticks on a white satin cloth. Aunts of the bride, Karen Hobgood, Ginger Corkern, Dale Bowman and Jan Wood decorated the church for the event.
The accompanist for the ceremony was pianist Ann Dickinson. David Jenkins, soloist, sang “Then” during the ceremony.
The bride was escorted and given in marriage by her father. She wore a strapless white corset ball gown of satin with a lace-up beaded lace bodice, an organza pick-up skirt and a chapel train. The bride’s elbow length veil, edged with Swarovski crystals and iridescent pearls, fell from an elegant tiara of Swarovski crystals. She carried a clutch bouquet of stargazer lilies with white and pink roses.
Samantha Magee, best friend of the bride, served as the matron of honor. Jennifer Corkern, sister of the bride, was bridesmaid, and the bride’s niece, Kiersten Harris, was the flower girl. The bridal attendants wore raspberry taffeta tea-length dresses tied with ice pink sashes, and bouquets of pale pink hydrangeas. The flower girl carried a white satin basket adorned with pearls and filled with raspberry rose petals.
Serving as the best man was Trey Mooney, cousin of the groom. Shaun Pounds was groomsman. Jacob Miller, the groom’s nephew, served as the ring bearer. The groom and his attendants wore black tuxedos with white vests. The groom wore a white tie and a white rose boutonniere while the groomsmen and ring bearer wore raspberry ties and boutonnieres of pink roses.
Following the wedding ceremony, a reception was held in the fellowship hall of the church.
A silver cake plateau held the bride’s white wedding cake, and was surrounded by roses and other fresh flowers. The three-tiered, square cake was decorated with an ice pink vine design and featured strawberry filling. The bride’s table was highlighted by white lattice screens adorned with white tulle and pearls, and swags of white roses. The groom’s cake was chocolate and decorated with a fishing motif.
Reception table centerpieces were hurricane candle globes and white pillar candles sitting atop mirrors and surrounded by strings of pearls. A large arrangement of summer flowers decorated the buffet table. Aunt of the bride Jan Wood served the wedding cake and the groom’s cake. The punch was served by aunts of the bride Ginger Corkern and Karen Hobgood. Caitlin Sones, cousin of the bride, registered guests. Family and friends provided other reception hospitalities.
The bride and groom were showered with bubbles as they left for their honeymoon to Sevierville, Tenn. When the couple returned from their wedding trip, they began their new life together at their Stateline residence.
