Helen Dillon Pittman

Helen Dillon Pittman, 79, a resident of the Sheridan Community, died Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012 at 1 p.m. at North Oaks Medical Center in Hammond.
Born May 11, 1933, she was a longtime member of Central Missionary Baptist Church. She worked in the bag division of Crown-Zellerbach for 25 years, later serving as a supervisor.
She is survived by a brother, Britton Rowell of Holden; nieces, Joni Daniels, Rebecca Mixon, Samantha Rowell and Lottie Rowell; all of Holden; a nephew, Britton B. Rowell II of Holden; and other family members, Jeanette Fisher of Tylertown, Miss., Emmer Dugas of Albany, Lloyd Dale Slocum of Florida and Steven Dillon and Yvonne Dillon, both of Tylertown.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bennie Matt Pittman; her parents, Fred Dillon and Lottie Smith Dillon; three sisters, Emmer Dillon, Mentoria King and Jeanette Sloan; a brother, Fred Dillon; and David Louis Kenney Sr.
Visitation was held Tuesday, Aug. 7 at Crain Funeral Home from 5 p.m. until 9 p.m. and will resume Wednesday at 10 a.m. A funeral service will be held Wednesday in the funeral home chapel at 1 p.m., with Eld. Doyle Ball and Eld. Clyde Cooper officiating. Entombment will follow at Ponemah Cemetery.
