Ernie Dale Knight Sr., 70, a U.S. Air Force veteran and a resident of Slidell, born Aug. 27, 1941 in Tylertown, Miss., passed away Thursday, Aug. 2, 2012 at Greenbriar Nursing Home in Slidell.

He is survived by one daughter, Patricia D. (Jerry) Grantham of Brandon, Miss.; two sons, Ernie “Skip” D. (Rose) Knight Jr. of Noble and Albert Todd (Dawn) Knight of Slidell; one brother, Wilmer Glen Knight of Covington; eight grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Leon A. Knight and Eloise Thomas Knight, and two brothers, Charles Knight and Hilton Knight.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Aug. 11 at the American Legion Veteran’s Cemetery in Ponemah Cemetery at 11 a.m. with Rev. Barbara Taylor officiating.
