Kailyn Makenzie Polk, the 10-month-old daughter of Shon and Brittany Dykes Polk, born Sept. 14, 2011, died the morning of Thursday, July 26, 2012 at LSU Bogalusa Medical Center in.

She is also survived by her sister, Larrel Elizabeth Polk; her grandparents, Brenda and Morgan Ratley and Darrel and Shirley Dykes, all of Franklinton, Stephen Polk of Thomas and Lisa Ard and Randy Jenkins of Franklinton; her great-grandparents, Anita Fay Dykes of Franklinton, Lucille and Ronald Joe Kennedy of Thomas, Samuel Wilkes of Franklinton, Patricia Wilkes of Mt. Hermon and T.W. and Bessie Ard of Pine; and her great-great-grandmother: Joyce Wilkes of Franklinton.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Mikalah Elizabeth Polk; great-grandmother, Bobbie Strauser; great-grandfathers, James L. Dykes, C.W. Polk and Homer Jarrell Sr.; and great-great-grandparents, Sedgie Wilkes, Vera Wilkes, Susie Nielson and Rebecca Thomas.

Visitation will be held Saturday, July 28 at Hillcrest Baptist Church from 9 a.m. until time for the funeral service at the church at 4 p.m., with Eld. Lerand Hunt officiating. Burial will follow at Thomas Cemetery.
