Bogalusa needs you

Now’s the time for everybody who has ever felt a bit envious of the people who are busy making a difference in the community to realize their own worth and to step up and get involved.
A call has been issued for Better Bogalusa Builders.
“We need volunteers for different initiatives in our city,” said Sandy Bloom, Human Resources supervisor. “Only people who are willing to be active volunteers should respond.”
Even folks who might believe they have no special talents to contribute to the city can help out alongside those with more confidence. The areas of need cover a wide spectrum.
All that is generally required is some time, energy, enthusiasm and a desire to be an active participant in the changes being wrought in Bogalusa.
Bloom offers a sampling of volunteering possibilities:
— “We need someone who wishes to serve on the board of Christmas in the Park. This board meets usually once a month year round. Activities include fundraising – you must be willing to sell at least 10 $100-raffle tickets every year, working in the ticket booth, volunteering as Santa, marketing and security.
— “We need members to serve on the Parks, Recreation and Culture Board. Again, this is an active board that meets once a month. Activities include planning and executing various events including 4th of July park activities as well as youth and adult sports events.
— “We need volunteer concession workers at the Avenue B ball field on evenings and late nights for eight weeks this summer.”
