The buzz about the first ever Bogalusa Blues and Heritage Festival, to be held in Cassidy Park on Sept. 29, is spreading throughout the region, and the event’s Facebook page shows people from near and far expressing growing excitement and vowing to attend.
Now they can seal the deal by purchasing tickets to the fest online.
The tickets to the 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. event cost $10, with a $1.34 service charge, and children 12 years old and under get in free.
The daylong entertainment will start off with a tribute to legendary Bogalusa native Professor Longhair, which will include New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival founder Quint Davis and some special guests. (More on that lineup will be published when the program is confirmed.) After that, Wes Lee, Big Daddy-O, Homemade Jamz, Luther Kent, Kenny Neal, Carolyn Wonderland and Blues Entertainer of the Year Tab Benoit will take the main stage.
The festival will also include juried art vendors, food and more.
Tickets will be available at the gate on the day of the festival, but there’s no need to wait or to stand in line to make history by supporting the first of what promises to become a major regional event.
To purchase tickets, go to the BBHF website, bogalusablues.com.
Sponsorships are also still available for those who would like to add to the impact of their festival support. For information on that, check out the website or contact Alicia Hartfield at bogalusabluesfoundationclub@gmail.com.
