Two of the Bogalusa Police Department’s top 10 most wanted criminal suspects were picked up this week.

Dre Lewis, 18, of Angie, was charged with three counts of simple burglary. His was the last outstanding arrest warrant of nine obtained by the BPD in March for suspects wanted in a string of burglaries that plagued the city and parish to the point that citizens were banding together to protect their properties.

Most of the burglary suspects were arrested immediately or within days of the BPD obtaining the warrants. One reportedly admitted to committing 19 burglaries.

The second top 10 arrest was of Narvin Winston, 29, of Bogalusa. He was charged with aggravated rape.

Winston was picked up on an unrelated charge in Tangipahoa Parish and because he was listed with the National Crime Information Center as wanted by the BPD for the rape, the local police were contacted.
