During Bogalusa’s Strategic Planning process, which included widespread public participation via surveys and Town Hall meetings, leadership development was determined to be a vital ingredient for the future success of the city.

In recent weeks, well-attended free leadership classes have been presented by retired Coast Guard Captain James R. Montgomery, and a new class will be offered at 5 p.m. Tuesday at City Hall.

The focus is on Leading Bogalusa into the Future.

The class will cover: Leadership Versus Management, Critical Elements of Leadership, Communication, Personality Type and Applying Your Learning to Build a Better Bogalusa. It is appropriate for people age 16 years and older.

While the free training is offered with the community as a whole in mind, individual participants benefit by, for example, learning to understand their own and others’ personality types and how they can affect communication and relationships.

To sign up, contact Montgomery via telephone at 985-246-9483 or online at jamesmontgomery@usa.net.
