John Marion Moore Jr., 80, a resident of Mt. Hermon born Sept. 5, 1931, died at 7:30 p.m. Friday, June 29 at his residence.

He was a retired teacher, counselor and administrator with the Jefferson Parish School system for many years. He was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Franklinton. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and a member of the VFW. He was also a member of the Washington Parish Retired Teachers Association.

He is survived by his wife, Agnes Cantrelle “Susie” Moore of Mt. Hermon, and daughter, Stephanie Lawrence of Marrero.

He was preceded in death by his parents, John M. Sr. and Derring Bailey Moore.

Visitation will be held Thursday, July 12 at St. Rosalie Catholic Church in Harvery from 9 a.m. until time for Mass at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at the Moore Family Cemetery in Mt. Hermon.
