The theme for the American Legion Magic City Post 24 Fourth of July parade this year is “Saluting Our Local Heroes,” and some of those who fit the bill will ride in the parade for all to see.

But there certainly won’t be room for all of them, and The Daily News wants to help make sure those who don’t make the trip through town are also acknowledged.

Let us know whom you consider a local hero in 100 words or less and we will publish their names and your reasons for their selection on Wednesday. To be included submissions must be received by 3 p.m. Monday, July 2.
