Sandra Lynn Brumfield

Sandra Lynn Brumfield was born in Bogalusa in 1952 and died Sunday, June 26, 2011. A resident of Baton Rouge for more than 40 years, she graduated from Mt. Hermon High school, attended Southern University and University of Phoenix. She most recently completed a certificate program at the Capital Area Technical College.

She is survived by two sons, Kendris J. (Jeannine) Brumfield of Katy, Texas and Elon N. Brumfield of San Antonio, Texas; four grandsons: Chase J. Brumfield, Tyler H. Brumfield, Xavier S. Brumfield and Jordan M. Brumfield, all of Katy; two older sisters, Delone B. (Johnny) Morgan of Harvey and Willie J. Alexis; four brothers: Willie F. (Carol) Brumfield, Larry V. (Mary) Brumfield, Ricky H. Brumfield, Dessie “Lamont” (Andrea) Brumfield; and a host of loving nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Bessie Mae Brumfield; her sister, Tavonja Turner; and her granddaughter, Lauren Brumfield.

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 30 at Green’s Chapel A.M.E., 1232 N. 32nd St., Baton Rouge, from 9 a.m. until time for the funeral service at 11 a.m. Interment will be held in Crystal Spring’s Cemetery in Mt. Hermon.
