Annual National Night Out set for Oct. 3
BOGALUSA, La. – As part of National Night Out, an annual community-building campaign, local law enforcement agencies have planned a night of fun for the community. The free event is set for Tuesday, Oct. 3rd from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in Cassidy Park. There will be free food and drinks, shirts, bounce houses and a DJ.
“It’s law enforcement’s way of coming together and inviting the community to come and meet police officers and bring awareness to the community,” Franklinton Chief of Police Justin Brown. “It takes a partnership between law enforcement and local citizens to ensure the safety of all.”
Some of the agencies that will be in attendance are the Bogalusa Police Department, the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office, the Franklinton Police Department, Probation and Parole, ADAPT, Inc. and Our Lady of the Angels Hospital. Bogalusa Assistant Chief of Police Troy Tervalon expressed his excitement saying “We encourage all ages to come out, meet the officers, and enjoy a free meal.”
There will be a wealth of information available as well as multiple prize giveaways for attendees and face painting for the kids. “It will be a great night for gathering information on things that you can be on the lookout for to be vigilant,” Candice Sledge, the Public Information Officer for Washington Parish Sheriffs Office said.
