SPECIAL TO THE DAILY NEWS
Over the last month the Bogalusa Police Department has received an increase in the number of calls for service involving vehicle burglaries. While some of the incidents are isolated to a certain area, there have been reports throughout the city. The police department asks citizens to remain vigilant during the holiday season. Remember to lock your vehicle and do not leave valuables such as purses or especially firearms inside your vehicle. Chief James Smith said “It’s not uncommon for us to see an increase in property crime this time of year. I would ask the public to pay attention to their surroundings and call the police if you observe suspicious activity in your neighborhood”.
