Bronson “Bront” Thompson was born on Oct. 6, 1938 to the union of the late Deacon Webster “Web” Thompson and LeVater “Vate” Youngblood Thompson in Tylertown, Miss. He was one of four sons born to this union. He departed this Earth on May 27, 2023 at 7:05 a.m. at Greenbriar Community Center in Slidell, La.

He accepted Christ at an early age and united with Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church where he served until his health began to fail him.

He was a faithful member of the Mt. Olive Male Choir which he loved and enjoyed and always talked about. He was loved and respected by all who knew him. He enjoyed talking about God as he was a true God fearing man.

Bronson was united in marriage to the late Evelyn Thompson, Gerry Thompson and the late Carrie “Neomia” Owens Thompson.

Bronson worked many years as a truck driver and forklift operator.

Bronson fathered three sons: Bronson D. Thompson of Tylertown, Miss., Kenneth Ray Thompson, who preceded him in death, and Bronson “Junior” Pennington of New Orleans, La.

Bronson leaves to cherish his precious memories: two sons: Bronson D. Thompson (Karen) and Bronson “Junior” Pennington, a very special niece LouVater “Vada” Moses of Cypress, Texas, a stepdaughter Cookie Louis of Tylertown, Miss, six grandchildren, a special friend Shirley Dean, a close cousin Queen Daniels, two sisters-in-law Ida L. Henry and Essie (Bill) Thompson, four stepchildren, one of whom preceded him in death, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 10, 2023 at 11 a.m. at Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church in Dexter, Miss. with the Rev. Regionals Russell officiating. Visitation will be Saturday June 10 at 10 a.m. until the time of the service.
