Cassidy Announces $4.5 Million in Hurricane Laura, Katrina Relief

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced that Louisiana will receive $4,538,525.73 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in hurricane relief. The city of Lake Charles will receive $3,096,912.73 for damages as a result of Hurricane Laura. Caldwell Parish will receive $1,441,613.00 to improve drainage capacity and mitigate flood damages to homes, schools, and businesses in Hurricane Creek as a result of Hurricane Katrina.

 

“Recovery continues long after the wake of the storm,” said Dr. Cassidy. “Louisianans are resilient and this funding helps us better prepare for the next storm.”
