Schilling named Bowling Green School’s Student of the Month for May

Elijah Lance Schilling is the 18-year-old son of Lance and Lori Schilling of Mt. Hermon and the grandson of Scott and Sheila Bond and Doris and the late Abner Schilling.  Eli has two younger siblings who are both students at Bowling Green, Rhett, a freshman, and Madelyn, a sixth grader. Eli is an active member of First Baptist Church of Franklinton.

Eli is a member of the Student Council where he currently serves as senior class representative.  He is also an active member of Senior Beta, Interact Club, Mu Alpha Theta, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes.  In his Junior year, Eli was chosen to compete in U.S. History at the District Literary Rally held at Southeastern Louisiana University, and as a senior, he was chosen to represent Bowling Green in Environmental Science.  He placed first his senior year and qualified to also compete at the State Literary Rally at Louisiana State University.  Eli was honored with the Outstanding Student Awards for both U.S. History and Environmental Science.  

In athletics, Eli is a four-year member of the Varsity Football and Varsity Golf Teams.  In football, Eli received 1st-team All-District honors his junior season, and 2nd-team All-District his senior season.  In golf, Eli was named Most Improved Player in his freshman and sophomore seasons.  His team is three-time District Champions, winning in 2021, 2022, and 2023 and they won the MAIS South State Championship title in 2023.  

Eli was recently voted Best All-Around and Most Handsome by his peers.  In his free time, he enjoys playing golf, watching movies, and hanging out with his friends and family.  

Eli has maintained a 3.71 cumulative GPA throughout high school and will graduate with 6 hours of dual enrollment credits from Southeastern Louisiana University.  After graduation, Eli plans to attend Mississippi State University and major in Geomatics.
