Holston named Ben’s Ford Christian School Student of the Month for May

Jonah Bradley Holston is the 18-year-old son of Jonathan and Karen Holston of Bogalusa. His paternal grandparents are the late John and Geneva Holston of Bogalusa, his maternal grandparents are Doris Cutrer and the late Robert Cutrer of Bogalusa. Jonah has one brother, John Robert.
Jonah has attended BFCS since the third grade. He has received the Taylor Scholar Award for multiple years, honor and banner roll, and multiple departmental awards. Jonah was a member of the National Beta Club for four years and the National Honor Society for two years. He advanced to the Overall Reading Fair in his junior and senior years.
Jonah played multiple sports during his years at BFCS. He played football, basketball and baseball, and he was on the track team, earning honors in each sport. He was awarded Second Team All-District as a sophomore and junior, and for his senior year, he made the football First Team All-District. He was also chosen to participate in the MAIS All-Star game. Jonah played basketball for the Eagles since the sixth grade, where he was a shooting guard and point guard. In his senior year, Jonah received the MAIS All-Tournament award and was named Varsity Defensive MVP and made the Class 3A All-District Varsity team for his senior year in basketball. Jonah played baseball for the Eagles for five years, and was named Varsity Defensive Player of the Year in baseball for his senior year. Jonah was also a member of the track team for three years, where he participated in field jump events and running and relay. For his senior year, he placed at District in each event that he participated in; Jonah also advanced to Southstate for each event. At Southstate, Jonah set a new school record of 12.11 for the 100M dash, and he also advanced to State in the long jump, 100M dash, 200M dash, and the 4 by 200 relay.
Outside of school, Jonah has worked as a lifeguard at the YMCA and Zona ATV Park. Jonah is an active member of Ben’s Ford Baptist Church, where he is a member of the Refuge youth group.
After graduation, Jonah plans to attend Northshore Technical Community college to become a certified plumber. His goal is to one day manage his own plumbing business.
