Mr. Jasper “J.J.” James Creel a resident of Bogalusa, La. passed away on Wednesday, May 24, 2023, at the age of 79.

Mr. Creel is survived by his son, James (Sharon) Creel; stepsons, Danny Graves of Bogalusa, LA and Kevin Creel; stepdaughters, Shania Thomas, Shermaine Creel Holcomb, Sonda Crain; grandchildren, Katlyn, Justin, Jessica, Corey (Cassie), Christopher (Kristen), Kyle, Kelvin, Kelsey (Blake), Jeremy, and Ericka; great grandchildren, Trinity, Harmony, Holden, Aubrie, Clay Ray, Kayleigh, Landon, Erielle, and Elijah; his brother, Charles Ray (Barbara) Creel of Franklinton, La; and his sister, Janice Creel Schilling of Franklinton, La.   He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and other cousins.

Mr. Creel was preceded in death by his parents, James Albert and Lula Creel; his daughter, Stacie Lynn Creel; three brothers, Marvin Leroy Creel, Albert “A.C.” Creel, and Julius Dick Creel; and three sisters, Fannie Keating, Martha Stringfield, and Ella Mae Thomas.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, May 31, 2023, at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home from 5  p.m. until 9 p.m. Visitation will continue on Thursday, June 1, 2023, at Poole-Ritchie Funeral Home from 9 a.m. until time for the services at 11 a.m. with Rev. Charles Ray Creel and Rev. Eric Creel officiating the service.  Interment to follow at Pounds Cemetery with Military graveside rites being conducted by Magic City American Legion Post #24.
