ADAPT, Inc. held a grand opening for its newest satellite office located at 357 Austin Street in Bogalusa. ADAPT, Inc. has worked to unite the community in providing resources and implementing prevention, intervention, and post-intervention strategies to address the causal factors that lead to sexual assault, violence, substance abuse and other problem behaviors in Washington Parish since 1990. Its main office is located at 216 Memphis Street in Bogalusa.

Project ADAPT (All Deserve Advocacy, Prevention, & Treatment) is opened for business in the old train depot. Services that are available include counseling for individuals seeking recovery from substance use and opioid use disorders, peer support services to support individuals in the recovery process and community prevention and education programs. Services are funded through the HRSA Rural Communities Opioid Response Program (RCORP) that was awarded to ADAPT, Inc.

ADAPT partners with Florida Parishes Human Service Authority, Our Lady of the Angels Hospital, Southeast Louisiana Volunteers of America, Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office, and Rayburn Correctional Center to bring additional substance use disorder (SUD) and opioid use disorder (OUD) prevention, treatment, and recovery services to the citizens of Washington Parish. Washington Parish is ranked number one in the state of Louisiana for overdose deaths per capita. Project ADAPT will take the lead in combating the opioid epidemic that plagues our communities.
