The Bogalusa Police Department was made aware of a threat that a school shooting will occur today at the Bogalusa High School. After receiving the threat, Officers of the Bogalusa Police Department immediately responded and began assessing the situation. While on scene, Officers were presented with an additional threat indicating a bomb was on campus.

As a precaution, all students and faculty were immediately evacuated.

After the proper measures were conducted, no presence of a shooter or evidence of a bomb were located.

The Bogalusa Police Department takes threats of this magnitude very seriously and it will be investigated as such.

At around 1:30 p.m., the Bogalusa Police Department asked on their Facebook page for the public to avoid the area of Bogalusa High School and surrounding areas.

The post said that a large police presence is on scene investigating an incident. Officials are orchestrating student and faculty evacuations, the post said.
