Franklinton woman arrested for second degree murder

The Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office (WPSO) announces the successful apprehension of a
homicide suspect on Monday, May 1, 2023. A WPSO deputy was dispatched to Pico Road,
Franklinton, in reference to a possible homicide. While patrolling the area, the WPSO deputy
spotted a vehicle matching the dispatched description and with the assistance from the
Franklinton Police Department and another WPSO deputy, a felony traffic stop was conducted
on the vehicle. The driver was detained by WPSO and transported to a home on Cumnock Road.
Upon arrival, a WPSO deputy located a deceased male subject inside the residence. The suspect
was detained and $4,900.00 was recovered from her pockets. The scene was turned over to the
detectives with the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office Investigation Division. The suspect has
been identified as Susanne Jenkins (DOB 3/27/1963.)
Sheriff Randy Seal expressed his appreciation to the WPSO Deputies and the deputies and
officers who assisted in the apprehension of the suspect. Sheriff Seal said, “I want to thank the
all of those involved in this case for their hard work and dedication. Their efforts were
instrumental in ensuring justice for this tragic event.”
