WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced that Louisiana will receive a total of $18,327,817.62 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in relief for Hurricanes Laura and Ida.   “Years later, our communities are still repairing damages from these hurricanes,” said Dr. Cassidy. “This funding will aid in the rebuilding and bring back a sense of normal.”   Grant Awarded Recipient Project Description $4,849,917.47 Calcasieu Parish School Board This grant will provide federal funding for repairs to Barbe Elementary facilities as a result of Hurricane Laura. $10,150,806.25 Office of Risk Management This grant will provide federal funding for repairs at McNeese University as a result of Hurricane Laura. $3,327,093.90 Terrebonne Parish School Board This grant will provide federal funding for a temporary facility for Lacache Middle School as a result of Hurricane Ida.
