Bowling Green School’s Joey Dupont was victorious in the high jump at the Class 5A South State Meet that was held on Wednesday at Silliman Institute.

Dupont tied Madison of St. Joseph High School’s Rayne Worshim and Silliman Institute’s Katie Dawson, they all cleared the bar at 4 feet, 10 inches. The tie breaker is fewest misses, so Dupont won, followed by Worshim and Dawson.

Wednesday’s meet included field events and the 3,200 meters. The rest of the track events are being held on April 29 at Silliman Institute.

The top four from each event are headed to the Class 5A state meet.

The state meet’s field events and the 3,200 will be on May 5 at Jackson Academy. The rest of the running events will be on May 6 at Jackson Preparatory School.

Bowling Green School was the only school from Washington Parish in the meet.

In order to reach state, the athletes needed to come in the top four at their district meet.

Bowling Green had one more athlete compete on Wednesday.

Trinity Miller came in eighth in the shot put at 24-4. Oak Forest Academy’s Kelsey Keyser won at 35-4.
