(Washington Parish, Louisiana) – This week was National Library Week, and Washington Parish Library wants to remind you of all the programs, services, and resources that are available in person or from the comfort of home through your local library! 

National Library Week (April 23rd-April 29th) is the perfect time to highlight the essential role libraries, librarians, and library workers play in transforming lives and strengthening communities. The theme for this year’s National Library Week is “There’s More to the Story,” which promotes the idea that libraries, while full of stories, also offer so much more than books. Library programming brings communities together for entertainment, education, and connection through book clubs, storytimes, crafting classes, and more. 

So come to one of our local branches and check out the many offerings. Enjoy story time with the kids. Attend a craft class where you can make friends along with a cool tchotchke. Have a bite at one of the recipe swaps in Bogalusa or Franklinton. Check out a hotspot or laptop at your local branch. Or just stop by to say hello and see what your local branch is offering. 

This National Library Week, the public can show their appreciation and support for libraries by visiting their library in person or online, following them on Facebook and using the hashtag #NationalLibraryWeek.
