Cassidy Announces $11 Million for Hurricane, Flood Relief

WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced that Louisiana will receive a total of $11,066,863.03 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in hurricane and flood relief.

 

“Louisiana is resilient no matter the storm,” said Dr. Cassidy. “This funding will help communities rebuild and prepare for the next disaster.”

 

Grant Awarded Recipient Project Description
$1,631,534.28 Livingston Parish School Board This grant will provide federal funding for repairs to the Denham Springs High School as a result of severe storms and flooding.
$8,938,732.50 Calcasieu Parish This grant will provide federal funding for the mitigation of 46 flood prone residential properties.
$496,596.25 Calcasieu Parish This grant will provide federal funding for management costs to mitigate 46 flood prone structures.
