Franklinton defeats Mt. Hermon, Pearl River in softball

Franklinton’s softball team defeated Mt. Hermon School and Pearl River in games held on Wednesday and Thursday.

The game against Mt. Hermon School was 21-0 in three innings on the road on Wednesday, as Skylar Branch and Shyanne Burris both drove in four runs for Franklinton

Branch missed hitting for the cycle by only a homer. Branch also scored four runs. 

Burris singled, doubled and scored two runs.

Aayah Faour singled twice and scored three runs.

Karlie Lord singled, drove in two runs and scored a run.

Kaydan Ard singled, scored three runs and drove in a run.

Heaven McNeese doubled with an RBI and a run scored.

Amaya Robertson singled and scored three runs.

Annsley Brown singled and scored a run.

Caylin Turnage scored three runs and scored a run.

Branch pitched the three innings, allowing one hit with seven strikeouts and one walk.

Mt. Hermon School’s Katherine Quinn singled.

Franklinton led 6-0 after two and scored 15 runs in the third.

The game against Pearl River was 6-5 at home in District 8-4A play.

Once again, Burris drove in four runs. She tallied two hits that included a double and a run scored.

Ard singled, doubled and scored two runs.

Branch singled, scored two runs and drove in a run.

Turnage singled and scored a run.

On Thursday, Mt. Hermon School was defeated by Maurepas, 13-3, in a District 7-B game.

Franklinton’s next game is on March 31 against Independence at home, while Mt. Hermon School’s next game is on April 4 at home against Maurepas.
