Franklinton splits games in tournament

Frankliknton’s baseball team went 1-1 in the West Feliciana Tournament that was held on Saturday.

Franklinton was defeated in the first game, 17-1 in five innings by Catholic of Pointe Coupee.

Micah Wascom singled and scored a run.

Cade Phillips had a single and a run batted in.

Elisha Hart singled.

The second game was a 3-2 victory over West Feliciana.

Phillips went 2-for-2 with two runs scored.

De’Ron Sincero singled and drove in two runs.

Wascom doubled and scored a run.

Banyan Penton and Brady Smith both singled.

Elisha Hart had an RBI.

Winning pitcher Rickken Burkhalter allowed two runs, one earned one four hits with three strikeouts and no walks over 4.2 innings.

Will Turner threw 2.1 shutout innings of one-hit ball with a strikeout and four walks.

Franklinton’s next game will be on March 20 against Archbishop Hannan at home.
