Plenty of locals competing in state powerlifting meet

The state powerlifting meet is getting closer and Washington Parish will be well represented.

This year, the parish has two top seeds in Franklinton’s Jaylin Magee and Khaled Waliagha.

Several more are headed to the boys meet from Franklinton, including Ty Creel, Treyton Bankston, Rayshone Manuel and Kevion Ginn.

Three lifters from Pine are headed to the boys meet that include Albert Caillouet, Kole Miller and Ty Williams.

In the girls meet, several Franklinton lifters are competing for titles, including Evelyn Argualles, Angel Dufrene, Marleigh Schilling, Arielle Magee, Bella Duplantis, Emma Cooke and Tayte Landry.

Pine has one female competing in the meet in Kathleen Thomas.

The state meet will be held March 22-25 at the Cajundome in Lafayette.
