Franklinton, Pine, Bogalusa competed in Franklinton Tournament

Franklinton, Pine and Bogalusa all competed in the Franklinton Tournament that was held March 9-11 at Franklinton and Pine.

Franklinton’s games were at FHS, while Pine’s contests were at Pine.

Franklinton went 2-1.

The Demons started the event with a 14-4 win over Jewel Sumner in five innings on March 9.

Micah Wascom homered, doubled, drove in four runs and scored a run.

Rickken Burkhalter doubled and drove in three runs.

Cade Phillips tripled, had two RBIs and two runs scored.

Dylan Stafford doubled with two RBIs and a run scored.

Tryson Fowler singled, scored a run and drove in a run.

Elisha Hart and Banyan Penton both singled and scored two runs.

Emerson Henn singled.

Jorrian Burkhalter scored two runs and drove in one, while Kaden Buffinet, Grant Roshto and De’Ron Sincero all scored a run.

Winning pitcher Rickken Burkhalter allowed four unearned runs in 3.1 innings with two strikeouts and a walk.

Mason Bowman threw 1.2 shutout innings, allowing two hits.

The next day was a 9-1 victory over Jewel Sumner.

Penton singled, doubled, drove in two and scored two runs.

Wascom doubled and tripled with an RBI and a run scored.

Fowler singled, drove in two and scored a run.

Rickken Burkhalter singled with two runs batted in and a run scored.

Sincero posted a single and an RBI.

Jorrian Burkhalter and Stafford both scored a run.

Dillon Pace went the distance, allowing one unearned run on six hits with seven strikeouts and a walk.

Franklinton’s final game of the tournament was a 3-1 loss to Doyle on March 11.

Rickken Burkhalter singled and scored a run.

Jorrian Burkhalter, Wascom, Sincero and Fowler all singled.

Buffinet scored a run.

Penton allowed two runs that were both unearned on four hits with seven strikeouts and two walks over six innings.

Pine went 1-2.

The Raiders’ first game was a 9-3 loss to Northlake Christian School on March 9.

Trey Knight recorded two hits that included a double, an RBI and a run scored.

Preston Stogner singled and tripled.

Ethan Ryals singled and scored a run.

Brady Polk singled and drove in a run.

Levi Spears posted a hit.

Hayden Logsdon scored a run.

The next day was a 6-1 setback to Pearl River.

Lucas Lemaire posted two hits.

Knight singled twice.

Stogner singled and scored a run.

Pine concluded the tournament with a 9-5 win over Bogalusa on March 11.

Brody Thomas doubled with two RBIs and a run scored.

Stogner singled with a run batted in and two runs scored.

Knight singled, drove in a run and scored a run.

Lemaire and Ryals both doubled and scored a run.

Logsdon singled and scored a run.

Turner Deleon drove in a run and scored a run, while Polk scored a run.

Bogalusa was defeated in its three games. 

The Lumberjacks were defeated by French Settlement, 19-7, on March 9.

On March 10, they were topped by Jewel Sumner, 4-3, before they played their final game of the tournament against Pine.

In games separate from the tournament, Franklinton defeated Pine, 12-2, on the road Tuesday.

Wascom hit a solo homer and scored three runs.

Penton singled twice and drove in two runs.

Fowler singled with a run driven in and a run scored

Sincero singled with an RBI and a run scored.

Hart and Stafford both singled and drove in a run.

Rickken Burkhalter scored three runs, while Jorrian Burkhalter scored a run.

Pace allowed two runs on four hits with three strikeouts over five innings.

Lemaire singled twice and scored a run.

Thomas doubled.

Spears and Deleon both singled.

Stogner and Knight both drove in a run, while Ryals scored a run.

On March 11, Pine was defeated by Sumrall in Mississippi, 17-4.

On March 14, Bogalusa was defeated by Jewel Sumner, 7-3 at home in a District 7-3A contest.

Franklinton’s next game is in the West Feliciana Tournament that runs March 16-18. Pine plays again on March 16 against Amite at home in a doubleheader. Bogalusa’s next game will be against Jewel Sumner on March 16 on the road.
