On March 9, Marianne D. Schuette, 45, a resident of Penn Chapel Road, was arrested and
booked into the Washington Parish Jail on charges of possession of methamphetamine,
possession of drug paraphernalia, contempt of court and traffic offenses. The arrests came after
a Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office patrol deputy stopped her for excessive speed. After
receiving consent to search, the deputy discovered the illegal items both on Schuette’s person
and in her vehicle.
Schuette has a previous arrest in 2019 for driving while intoxicated and possession of illegal
drugs and drug paraphernalia.
On March 10, an off-duty state trooper notified the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office of a
vehicle being driven in a reckless manner. A Sheriff’s Office deputy responded and intercepted
the vehicle just west of the Bogue Chitto River bridge in Franklinton. The driver, Robert Jimmy
Jenkins, Jr., a resident of North Dutch Road, was found to be in possession of methamphetamine
and drug paraphernalia. He was booked into the Washington Parish Jail and charged with those
offenses.
“There is no bright future associated with the use of methamphetamine,” stated Sheriff Randy
Seal. “Meth use impairs not only judgment but also quality of life. I congratulate our officers
for making these arrests and I challenge Schuette and Jenkins to use their arrests as a wake-up
call to re-evaluate their priorities in life.”
