Pine’s baseball team won a doubleheader against Varnado on March 2, but was defeated by Northlake Christian School in Tuesday, while Varnado defeated West St. John on Tuesday

The games against Varnado were 18-2 and 16-4.

In the 18-2 game, Hayden Logsdon doubled with three runs batted in and two runs scored.

Ethan Ryals singled and scored three runs.

Trace Steele doubled, drove in a run and scored a run.

Preston Stogner singled and drove in two runs.

Trey Knight doubled and scored a run.

Lucas Lemaire and Cole Rester both singled and scored a run.

Nick Duncan and Julio Cardoso both scored two runs, while Brady Polk and Luke Spears both drove in a run, Levi Spears, Turner Deleon, Brody Thomas and Connor Caldwell all scored a run.

Stogner threw three shutout innings, allowing no hits with six strikeouts and three walks.

Varnado’s Jyren Smith doubled and drove in a run.

Jamari Lewis singled and scored a run.

Davonte Magee scored a run.

In the 16-4 game, Deleon doubled, drove in three runs and scored a run.

Levi Spears singled with two RBIs and a run scored.

Lemaire doubled, drove in two and scored two runs.

Knight singled and drove in three runs.

Ryals singled and scored two runs.

Steele singled and drove in a run.

Logsdon drove in two runs and scored a run, while Stogner, Polk and Cardoso all scored two runs, C.J. Cobon, Rester and D.J. Garrett all scored a run.

On Tuesday, Pine was defeated by Northlake Christian School, 9-4, on the road.

On Tuesday, Varnado was victorious over West St. John, 18-8, at Pine in the District 10-1A opener.

Pine’s next game will be on March 11 at Pine in the Franklinton Tournament, while Varnado plays again on March 13 against Amite at Pine.
