After a distinguished twenty-seven year career with the Washington Parish Sheriff’s Office, Captain Tom Anderson retired in mid-January. Captain Anderson has held many positions in the Sheriff’s Office, serving with six different Sheriffs, beginning as a reserve deputy under Sheriff Willie J. Blair. He also worked as a reserve officer with the Bogalusa Police Department.

Captain Anderson’s career encompassed service in both the patrol and investigative divisions of the Sheriff’s Office. His last assignment was Captain over the Criminal Investigations Division. He will continue to serve on a part-time basis as needed.

“Tom Anderson has always been a go-to employee,” stated Sheriff Randy Seal. “His knowledge of law enforcement procedures and his vast experience has enabled him to serve as a mentor to younger officers and a first class advisor to me during my years as Sheriff. I’ll always be grateful for his dedication to the Sheriff’s Office and the citizens of Washington Parish. It has been an honor to serve with him and I will always cherish both our professional and personal relationships.”
