The public is invited to the Gary C. Magee Track & Field complex dedication ceremony on Feb. 17 at 1:30 p.m. The dedication will be held in the Louis V. Murray football stadium. 

 

Coach Magee is a former all-district and all-state football star for the Central Memorial High School Spartans from 1952-1955. He also earned All-Southwestern Athletic Conference (All-SWAC) accolades for the Southern University Jaguars during the 1957-1958 football seasons.

 

Coach Magee became the first Bogalusa High School Track & Field Coach to win the State of Louisiana 4A Track Championship in 1975, and selected Track & Field Coach of the Year. Coach Magee was also named assistant principal at Bogalusa High School in 1975. He was appointed as the principal of Bogalusa High School July 1, 1990.
