Franklinton names Bickham the school’s January Student of the Month

Catrice Da’sha Bickham is the 17-year-old daughter of Curtis and the late Denise Bickham. She is the sister of Keyonna Thompson and Tamira and Curtis Bickham. Catrice currently holds a 4.0 grade point average and earned a composite score of 22 on the ACT. She will graduate with nine dual enrollment hours in Western Civilization and English through Southeastern Louisiana University.
Catrice is a four-year member of the National Beta Club and 4-H club, a three-year member of National Honor Society, and a two-year member of the student council. Through these clubs, she has participated in many community service projects, such as donating goods for hurricane victims, serving as a buddy at Special Olympics, making decorations for nursing home residents, serving breakfast to the Veterans, and serving in various capacities at the Washington Parish Free Fair. Aside from being active in clubs, Catrice is also a four-year member of Diamond Girls and a three-year member of the Showstoppers.
Throughout high school, Catrice has received a number of awards and accolades. She has earned departmental awards in several subjects, as well as the Taylor Scholar Award, Academic Excellence Awards, and Banner Roll. Catrice has attended the Louisiana State Beta Convention the past two years and participated in group talent. She is also an active member of the Upward Bound program at Southeastern Louisiana University. Through Upward Bound, Catrice has been afforded the opportunities to visit Washington D.C. and Disney World over the summer while completing college credits in math in chemistry. In 2023, Catrice was given the opportunity to attend the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Sciences in Washington D.C.
As a senior, Catrice has been chosen to serve in a number of leadership roles. She has earned the title of Showstoppers Captain as well as Captain of Diamond Girls. Catrice is also the student council treasurer.
Following graduation, Catrice plans to attend Southern University A&M college where she will major in nursing and would like to work in the pediatrics department.
