Central Elementary School Talented Art Teacher Vicki Evans’ class picked a topic about the history of Mardi Gras. They did research on each topic, then painted their subject. They also made a new Mardi Gras bead mural with recycled Mardi Gras beads. They do one every year. They have them on display at school. When the kings and queens visited on Feb. 2, they unveiled the new mural. They took the time to let all my kids tell them about their art project Our mayor even asked us if we can display our mural at city hall. The class learned about the Zulu history. They shaved and sanded the coconuts and drank the milk and also made their own coconuts.
