WASHINGTON – U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA) announced Beauregard Electric Cooperative, Inc. will receive $56,784,219.14 from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) in relief for Hurricanes Laura. The funding is reimbursement for repairs in the wake of the storm and will help reduce the likelihood of large electricity bill increases for Louisiana families.
“In the wake of Hurricane Laura came major power outages, but our parishes and people are resilient,” said Dr. Cassidy. “This funding will help communities continue to recover and power Louisiana.”
